Mediterranean Sea — Cartagena —Costa del Sol

October is coming to its end, and it's getting cold, dark and wet around the north latitudes. Meanwhile, in the Costa del Sol region, the sunniest coast of Spain, the tourist season is at its peak!

Go look for tickets at once, they are still cheap: you can fly to Malaga and from Alicante on a convenient flight. And rush aboard our ship! Arrange a break from autumn days for yourself, revive yourself with the sun light, sea and lively breeze. It should give you enough power to last till the New Year holidays!

Route
In this journey, our route lies alongside the Mediterranean coast of Spain. The season lets us count on prevailing tail winds and good weather, while a relatively short distance will allow us to use the sails and call at a couple of interesting ports.

One of the important points within the route is Cartagena. Located in a gulf sheltered by high cliffs, the city is completely hidden from prying eyes from the sea. Steersman can find the passage between the cliffs only at the very last moment!

At the final point of our route we will visit Alicante, a beautiful resort city with the castle on a high cliff and the Volvo Ocean Race Museum, and we will dedicate our journey time to sailing practice and training sailor tricks, as well as to relaxation on the deck heated with the sun light and swimming in the open sea.

Sailor practice
Any Shtandart journey includes mandatory making and taking in of sails, bracing and steering wheel shifts. We have no passengers!

Amount of new knowledge and skills depends on your energy and enthusiasm. Shift officers and the captain will eagerly share their experience; just find time to ask your questions! Knots, modern and traditional navigation, marine radio communication and tricks of the sail settings – you can learn anything, see it and try it with your own hands.
