200 nautical miles

This is a short leg, and we hope an easy one, from one Spanish resort to the other. This is a perfect getaway from your city routine to sunbath and enjoy the fresh salty wind.  

You can consider Torrevieja a Moscow suburb by the size of the Russian diaspora. There are Russian stores, Russian restaurants and even a Russian radio. The closest airport – Alicante – has every day straight flights to Moscow. 

Yet we haven’t been to Torrevieja. Inexcusable! It’s time to get acquainted.

 

Short distance – about 200 miles - allows us not to rush, sail more and visit some interesting little towns along the way. Depending on weather these might be Denia or Alicante where you can visit the Volvo Ocean Race museum and the ancient fortress up on the rocks above the town. If we’re lucky enough and the wind is in our favor, we can stop by Ibizza for half a day. 

Every trip aboard Shtandart, even a short one, means setting and hoisting sails, bracing the yards, and standing watch at the helm. You are no passenger!

The amount of knowledge you can gain is totally up to you. Our watch officers and the Captain are eager to share their experience, so pile them up with questions!
