400 nautical miles – Italy – Greece

Again a long distance, and a longer route in terms of time as well.

Those who don't find a week journey long enough and want to spend more time at sea - welcome aboard! The sailing route from Malta to Corfu is one of the few 10-day routes this autumn.

Route
After leaving Valetta, a significant sailing to the North-East will be in store of us - finally, to the Greek islands! Depending on the weather, we can sail to Greece through the open waters of the Mediterranean sea and make a significant many days-long journey, or sail alongside the Italian shores with intermediate stops, for instance, in Syracuse and in Crotone.

Anyway, we will have sea watches, various conditions of a long sea journey, swimming in sea and relaxing walking in the coastline towns.

10 days is long enough for a complete reloading and immersion into the maritime way of life. Creaking of the ropes and meditative swinging of hammocks will become a familiar reality, while city traffic and rush hours will turn into weird exotic things.

Sailor practice
Any Shtandart journey includes mandatory making and taking in of sails, bracing and steering wheel shifts. We have no passengers!

Amount of new knowledge and skills depends on your energy and enthusiasm. Shift officers and the captain will eagerly share their experience; just find time to ask your questions! Knots, modern and traditional navigation, marine radio communication and tricks of the sail settings – you can learn anything, see it and try it with your own hands.
