Following Columbus
Day 1. Arrival. Accommodation aboard the ship. In the evening we set out to see and head South-West towards Masca beaches.
Day 2. Berthing at Masca black beach (or, taking into consideration weather conditions, calling at Los Gigantes). We can come across whales or turtles there. We plan hiking along Masca canyon, and climbing the highest point of the island. In the evening the ship sets sails for the island of La Gomera.
День 3. Arrival in La Gomera, the Columbus’ island. He made a stop there on his way to America. It is said that the famous explorer fell in love with the ruler of the island Beatriz de Bombadilla and it delayed his departure from the Canaries for long. In San Sebastian de La Gomera we will be able to see the church in which Columbus genuflected in his prayer before sailing off, as well as the house where he lived and the well with the inscription “This water was used to consecrate America” from which the sailors took water supplies for their voyage. Moreover, the island is famous for its unique laurel groves.
Day 4. The sea leg to island Gran Canaria, the city called Pasito Blanco. The walking tour to Roque Nublo, the «Rock Clouded», which was considered sacred by aboriginals. While standing on the observation deck in good weather it is possible to see Teide volcano on Tenerife island. If desired you can visit Palmitos park, the subtropical oasis which is situated in the canyon and surrounded by palm trees and cacti. The park is the home for about two hundred bird species; there is an orchid house, a butterfly house, an aquarium, a primates island, a parrot show and a dolphin show…
Day 5. Berthing in Pasito Blanco. It is possible to visit Palmitos park or a water park, or to have a sailing trip.
Day 6. Sailing to the ocean. There is a possibility of berthing in Las Palmas. In the evening we head for Tenerife.
Day 7. Return to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
